Bio/CV


Clarissa B. Aponte is a Puerto Rican photographer born in Manhattan and raised in Brooklyn and Long Island. Clarissa earned her B.A. in Studio Art with a concentration in photography from The City College of New York. She currently works as an Adjunct College Laboratory Technician in the Visual Media Lab at City College. Clarissa’s work concentrates on her familial relationships and environments, and how both aspects of her life have played a significant role in shaping her identity. She is also currently exploring the connection between abstraction and non-traditional uses of film.

Falkland Road Inc., New York, NY – Archival Assistant, 2016-2018.
              Assisted with organizing photographer Mary Ellen Mark’s physical and digital archive of negatives, slides, contact sheets, and                    exhibition prints.
